Code of Coduct
Welcome to the Tunkhannock Public Library
We value our members and strive to treat them with courtesy and respect. The Library Board of Trustees' Code of Conduct insures that library users and staff have a right to quality library service in an atmosphere that is calm, safe, and free of disturbances from others. We need the cooperation of all to reach this goal.
You are welcome to:
Use our materials gently.
Take them home to enjoy by using your Library card.
Speak in conversational tones. Use cell phones in the lobby. Set cell phones to vibrate.
Use patron computers after registering at the circulation desk.
Drink from covered beverage containers.
Bring children of all ages to use library materials and participate in library activities. Children age nine (9) and under may not be left unattended anywhere in the library and must be accompanied and directly supervised by a responsible adult.
Be comfortable during your visit. Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times. Dispose of trash as you leave.
Ask the library staff if you have any questions or need any assistance.
The following are prohibited:
Engaging in any activity prohibited by law.
Disruptive or unsafe behavior including any conduct that interferes with the use of the library by others or with the functioning of the library staff.
Use of loud, abusive, threatening or insulting language.
Sexual harassment or misconduct.
Activities that may result in damage to library property.
Sleeping, use of any form of tobacco and offensive body hygiene.
Animals, except for assistance dogs.
Rollerblading or skateboarding.
Petitioning, soliciting or selling merchandise.
